Peter Olejar, Minister of Music at St. Paul’s Christian Church in Raleigh since 1968, earned the Master of Music degree from Yale and a degree from Duke with additional studies at the University of Toronto Electronic Music Laboratory. His publications include Chalice Anthems (Chalice Press) and many carillon pieces published by American Carillon Music Editions. His orchestration of “Fly Me to the Moon” is featured in the Hollywood film “Once Around.” His electronic compositions are listed in Repertoire International des Musiques Electroacustiques. His communion hymn “Now We Come Before God’s Presence” is included in the Chalice Hymnal.

 Choral commissions include the opening music for the 1999 Disciples General Assembly  culminating his conducting the ten thousand voice assembly and a commission for the 2000 Disciples of Christ Regional Assembly of North Carolina. Other commissions for organ and choral pieces and hymns have been for churches in seven different states and for a carillon piece played at the opening concert of the World Carillon Federation Congress, July 2000. His carillon music has been played worldwide, recently including Australia.

 

Timothy Shepard
Tim returns to the Christmount Music Week music staff for the third year, this time as the Handbell  director.   Tim is a graduate of Westminster Choir College and Emory University where he studied Sacred Music at both institutions.  He is the founder of
AzaleaCircle.com, an Internet publishing company of sacred music where many of his arrangements and compositions are published.  Returning participants might remember his choral anthem, "Teach Me Thy Ways" that was sung last year.  Tim is presently the Associate Director of Music / Organist at Clairmont Presbyterian Church in Decatur GA where he directs the Clairmont Ringers.  He is the Assistant Director / Artist-in-Residence of the Atlanta Concert Ringers, a community handbell choir.

 



Lodging and Meals
Lodging will be in the Guest Houses and Pogue RV Park. Each Guest House room has 2 double beds and private bath. Linens are provided. The RV Park has water, sewer and electrical hookups.

Meals available in the Guest House dining hall include: Thursday dinner; Friday breakfast, lunch and dinner; Saturday breakfast and lunch; and Sunday breakfast and lunch.  Meals will be served buffet-style in the Guest House dining hall.
