We are excited to announce Camp Lakey Gap's
first Spring Family Weekend. The main goal of the weekend is to expose new
campers and their families/guardians to Camp Lakey Gap, but we
will welcome return campers as well.
The campers will experience some independence while exploring our camp
activities on Saturday and give their parents/guardians a little free time
to explore the area. Families will join the campers for most of the meals,
but have lunch on Saturday on their own. Then on Saturday evening we will
have a separate dinner and musical entertainment planned for the families so
that they have time to meet each other and connect.
Your camper will be paired with a return counselor with a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio,
according to their level of need. We will have camp activities planned
throughout the day, and be outside as much as possible as long as the
weather permits this.
Families will be staying in Christmount's Guest House, which has
hotel-like rooms that sleep 4-5 people. The rooms are very comfortable, have
a full bathroom, television, and most have pretty mountain views.
The forms that you will fill out for the Spring Family Weekend can also be
used for your summer camp application, if you decide to send your camper in
the summer. This way you will only have to fill out the information once.
The director will contact you closer to the summer to find out if there are
any significant behavioral or medical changes that need to be noted on the
forms.
Below is the breakdown of fees. Your final fee will depend on the amount of
people that are coming, and the age of the extra children that you are
bringing. If you have questions please contact the camp director, Elsa
Berndt 828-669-8977
elsa.berndt@yahoo.com.
Space is limited, so please apply early!
