Mountain Camp is an opportunity for young campers to spend a week in the woods, living in tents without having to backpack or do their own cooking. Campers live in the Christmount wilderness area while taking most of their meals at the camp Dining Hall, except for pack-out lunches when they hike or the one night they cook out. It is not necessary for campers to own lots of equipment, since Christmount owns tents and other camping supplies.

Daily hikes both at Christmount & in the nearby mountains Crafts Devotional time in the morning & evening
Group-building games and activities Swimming
Learning about nature (the names of many plants & trees, creek walking, and safety in the woods) Recreation

Mountain Camp is a very active camp and is designed to be lots of fun. Campers need to be able to walk and enjoy hiking. Your camper needs to understand that it is an outdoor camp; they will be in the woods and hiking every day! Parents/guardians are expected to let their children know what kind of camp this is. They do not spend time inside or watching movies.

Medications: Bring all prescription medication to camp in the prescription bottle. We cannot accept them in any other form.

To register: Parents/guardians must fill out a Christmount camp application. Please read all health information carefully. If information on shots and insurance is not filled in completely and phone contacts are not complete, we will not consider a camper fully registered for camp.

Christmount camps are open to all, regardless of race, nationality, and religion, in accordance with Christian values and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The only restrictions are those pertaining to age or to the physical requirements of a particular camp.

Christmount Policy on Bullying

Bullying is an act by one or more people to exclude, tease, taunt, gossip about, hit, kick, or put down another person with the intent to hurt them. Bullying happens when a person or group of people want to have power over another. Bullying can be verbal, physical, or online or on a cell phone.

At Christmount, bullying is inexcusable, and we have always had a firm policy against all types of bullying and intimidation. Our camp philosophy is based on our belief that every camper has a right to have a safe and fun camp experience, that each person will be respected, and in turn learn to appreciate and respect others.

Christmount’s camp staff and volunteers are trained to recognize bullying and to report it to their supervisors; if possible staff will attempt first to use the situation as a teachable moment and help to remedy it. Campers and counselors who continue to bully will not be tolerated; if the person continues bullying they will be sent home.
